"Zao's body was too old to cope with advanced augmentations, the hand-me-down neural implant from a few decades back was decent enough though. I happened to read Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon by chance, thanks to a colleague who left it on my desk and I wonder why this 2002 book did not get enough fame for me to have heard of it earlier. Dick Award – ALTERED CARBON by Richard Morgan. Morgan first released Altered Carbon, his debut novel of hardboiled SF genius, the body-swapping detective tale met with little criticism. I was reminded of this when reading Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan, a hard-boiled science fiction story set in a future where people are largely immortal. I forget how I came across this book, it may have been a review somewhere or I found it at Half Price Books, however it came into my hands I'm sure glad it did. I read a great book, Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan. In the class she showed us how to creatively recycle worn out book covers, used sewing patterns, stray playing cards, puzzle pieces and loads of mismatched papers into our own, one of a kind altered journals.
